Help Protect Coastal & Marine Wildlife Across Orange & San Diego Counties
Photographers, swimmers, surfers, divers, paddlers, and beach walkers — your eyes can help protect wildlife.
Join the Wildlife Jewels® EYES Community Reporter Network and make a difference simply by reporting what you see during your regular time by the ocean.
Whether it’s a seabird in distress, an entangled wildlife, harassment (e.g., people feeding wildlife or people/dogs chasing wildlife), illegal tidepool collection, or hazards like fishing line, charcoal, or plastic debris, your quick report helps responders act faster and prevent harm.

About the EYES Collective
The Wildlife Jewels EYES Collective is a volunteer-powered education and community-science network that protects coastal and marine wildlife through observation, data collection, and reporting.
Participants learn how to safely spot and document wildlife and environmental hazards, helping improve outcomes for seabirds, shorebirds, and other coastal species during everyday conditions and events such as fishing-line entanglements, toxin outbreaks, or oil spills.
EYES™ stands for Engage Your Eyes for Sea Life™ — a movement to help communities see, report, and protect.
Important Note
EYES™ does not provide wildlife rehabilitation or marine-mammal handling. We refer distressed animals to authorized responders. When appropriate, permitted bird/small-mammal transport is supported by our Wildlife Jewels® Rescue Crew — currently in pilot.
About the EYES Community Reporter Network
The EYES Community Reporter Network is open to all community members who spend time along the coast — from La Jolla and Solana Beach to Newport Beach and beyond.
We welcome reports from any beach in Orange County and San Diego County. On-the-ground follow-up is prioritized in La Jolla, Solana Beach, and Newport Beach, and we coordinate with local responders elsewhere.
You don’t need a schedule, training, or special equipment — just a willingness to help protect coastal wildlife when you’re out enjoying the beach.
