The 2025 theme for UN World Oceans Day is "Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us" — a powerful reminder of the ocean’s breathtaking beauty and its essential role in sustaining life on Earth.

From the magic of Antarctic Krill, tiny yet fascinating crustaceans that sustain Antarctica’s extraordinary wildlife…

To the critically endangered African Penguin, whose survival depends on the health of our seas…

To the majestic California Brown Pelican, once nearly extinct and now soaring again thanks to ocean protections…

To the adorable harbor seals and playful sea lions, who remind us of the wild joy that thrives along our shores…

To the vibrant Garibaldi fish, flashing orange like living coral flames through the kelp forests…

To the inspiring Horn Shark, a small, gentle bottom-dweller with an ancient lineage…

To the elusive Sea Anemone, who shelters marine life in delicate, symbiotic dances…

To the stylish Bat Star, gleaming in brilliant hues while serving as a coastal clean-up crew…

And to so many more — from the tiniest invertebrates to the largest marine mammals — each species holds its own wonder!

✨ At Wildlife Jewels®, we believe that every single wildlife— no matter its species — is profoundly unique and inspiring. Each has something to teach us, and each one deserves care and protection.

🌍 Let’s protect what sustains us. Let’s celebrate, learn from, and stand up for our oceans.

💙 “At Wildlife Jewels®, we believe every wildlife is precious, and we are endlessly fascinated by the magic of ocean life—from the tiny Antarctic krill to the inspiring Western Gull and the extraordinary Horn Shark. Protecting Sea Lions at La Jolla Cove: How You Can Help

During our wildlife monitoring walk at La Jolla Cove last week, we were disturbed to spot and report two distressed sea lion pups. Since then, it has been reported that three dead pups have been found on the beach, and two others had to be rescued.

Unfortunately, the large crowds and public interference, including petting the sea lions, have likely contributed to these deaths.

To protect these majestic sea lion pups, we need rangers to monitor the sea lions and track public interference. Additionally, placing cones and signs to educate the public about the sea lion pups and the threats they face is crucial.
