Wildlife Jewels Community Engagement
Empowering Communities to Protect Wildlife—Together
Overview
At Wildlife Jewels®, community connection drives every program we create. Our Community Engagement initiatives cultivate meaningful relationships with families, educators, and partner organizations—sparking hands-on conservation action and expanding access to wildlife education across diverse communities.
What We Host
We organize educational community events such as our annual World Wildlife Day Celebration in Newport Beach, wildlife art exhibitions, beachside and seasonal lecture series that blend science, art, and storytelling. Our community beach cleanups and native planting days welcome families, volunteers, and corporate teams to actively restore coastal habitats while learning about the wildlife they’re helping to protect. We also host community art exhibitions showcasing our Wildlife Jewels® fine-art and fashion collections to inspire curiosity and conservation action.
Where We Participate
Wildlife Jewels actively participates in Title I and K-12 school STEAM and community days, bringing interactive wildlife booths, art activities, and storytelling sessions to elementary, middle, and high schools—including underserved campuses. We collaborate with nonprofit partners at events and open houses, highlighting our coastal monitoring, rescue programs, and hands-on art projects. At community festivals and public forums, we engage audiences with live demonstrations, mini-workshops, and conservation Q&A to inspire new volunteers and broaden our reach.
Title I & Underserved School Support
We provide tailored STEAM presentations, wildlife art workshops, and immersive field-trip experiences for Title I and underserved schools—ensuring every student can connect with nature, explore wildlife science, and express their learning through art.
Community Conservation Activities and Community Groups
Our EYES program empowers community members to become local wildlife reporters, helping monitor coastal species and report distressed animals. Meanwhile, our Sweep for Wildlife program supports community-led marine debris removal groups that keep local beaches and waterways clean and safe for wildlife. We also organize native habitat planting days where volunteers restore critical pollinator corridors and coastal ecosystems, fostering healthier environments for wildlife to thrive. These initiatives enable residents to take active roles in conservation efforts within their cities.
Volunteer Engagement
Volunteers of all ages are essential to our mission. They support outreach tables, lead cleanup crews, assist with art activities, and help monitor coastal wildlife. Each hour contributed strengthens community stewardship and protects local ecosystems.
