This sad reality is exemplified by the staggering fact that over 1 million animal and plant species are on the brink of extinction, according to recent United Nations data. The decline in native species abundance by at least 20% in major habitats since 1900 further underscores the critical state of our natural world.
Our Conservation Program operates on three pivotal fronts
Wildlife Crime
First, our aim is to combat Wildlife Crime, a major force driving species to extinction, and protect wildlife from illegal activities. We illuminate the threats posed by wildlife criminal acts including poaching and wildlife trade, shedding light on imperiled wildlife. Through digital advocacy, partnerships, visual arts, and media outreach, we raise awareness and the urgency of the need to protect wildlife. Our efforts extend to pioneering innovative technologies to guard wildlife from crime, uniting technologists and policymakers in collaborative groups and panels to forge solutions that protect wildlife from criminal activities.
Wildlife Rescue
Second, our Wildlife Rescue program revolves around collaborations with international partners, rehabilitation groups, and technologists spearheading novel approaches to streamline the discovery, rescue, and treatment of wounded wildlife. We aim to unite cutting-edge technologies to swiftly and efficiently locate injured animals, ensuring their prompt retrieval and transport to dedicated rehabilitation facilities.
Oceans
Third, our Ocean Conservation program illuminates the devastating consequences of fishing, offshore oil drilling, deep sea mining, climate change, ocean acidification, the insidious spread of plastic pollution, and a host of other threats that jeopardize our precious wildlife and the delicate balance of our oceans.
