Sadly our true jewels, the wildlife, are vanishing at an alarming pace due to human-caused threats – from poaching and cruelty to habitat destruction and pollution. This sad reality is exemplified by the staggering fact that over 1 million animal and plant species are on the brink of extinction, according to recent United Nations data. The decline in native species abundance by at least 20% in major habitats since 1900 further underscores the critical state of our natural world.
