Wildlife Jewels® Ocean

Protecting Our Ocean Jewels™

The Problem

Our ocean is facing significant challenges. The cumulative impacts of warming, pollution, acidification, and oxygen depletion pose serious risks to ocean health and the diverse life it supports. These pressures affect marine ecosystems worldwide.

Seabirds and marine mammals are impacted by harmful algal blooms, environmental contaminants, plastic ingestion, and entanglement in fishing gear. Additional threats such as oil pollution, habitat degradation, ship strikes, noise disturbance, and unsustainable fishing practices continue to affect marine life across many regions.

These issues highlight the importance of increasing awareness and promoting responsible stewardship to help protect marine ecosystems and the wildlife that depend on them.

Our Approach

Wildlife Jewels’ Ocean Programs highlight the beauty, behaviors, and stories of marine life through artistic and educational initiatives, while raising awareness about the impacts of human activity on ocean ecosystems.

Through coastal wildlife observation and documentation, we help increase understanding of wildlife presence and human impacts. Our work focuses on observation, documentation, and public awareness to support conservation efforts.

Our educational and community outreach initiatives engage individuals through conservation programs, arts, and public engagement, helping communities better understand and protect wildlife.

Digital outreach and media play an important role in our mission to educate and inspire. Through collaboration with organizations and community partners, we support awareness and dialogue around ocean conservation.

Protecting marine ecosystems requires collective effort. We are committed to fostering partnerships that support education, awareness, and long-term conservation of marine life.

Wildlife Jewels EYES™ (Engage Your Eyes for Sea Life)

The Wildlife Jewels® EYES Program is a coastal wildlife observation, documentation, and reporting initiative focused on early detection and public awareness. Through trained volunteers and community participation, EYES helps document wildlife concerns, beach conditions, marine debris, and other threats affecting coastal habitats, while encouraging timely reporting to authorized responders and supporting long-term conservation awareness.
