Wildlife Jewels and Newport Bay Conservancy: Lowell Elementary Students Connect with Pollinators Through Art

Wildlife Jewels Arts workshop led by founder & artist of Wildlife Jewels workshop co-hosted with the Newport Bay Conservancy for Lowell Elementary Students at the Upper Newport Bay

We recently co-led a wonderful art workshop with Newport Bay Conservancy for the students of Lowell Elementary. The workshop focused on raising awareness about the magnificent and unique pollinators that inhabit Upper Newport Bay, including the precious Monarch Butterfly, the Bush Sunflower, and the adorable Anna’s Hummingbird.

In partnership with Newport Bay Conservancy and OC Parks, the workshop combined educational materials about Upper Newport Bay’s unique pollinators with hands-on art activities led by Azi Sharif, artist and founder of Wildlife Jewels.

Students explored the vital role these pollinators play in the ecosystem and learned simple ways they can help protect them — all while painting these remarkable species through a hands-on art and education experience.

It was inspiring to see the students’ creativity and passion for pollinators shine through their artwork!

Inspiring day of art and learning in honor of pollinators!
