Happy World Albatross Day!💙
Last year, during Southern California’s seabird crisis, Wildlife Jewels had the opportunity to document a precious Laysan Albatross receiving expert care at Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center after potentially suffering from domoic acid poisoning.
To us, she became Coral — a symbol of resilience, beauty, and the ocean life we work to protect.
Albatrosses are among the world’s most remarkable ocean travelers, crossing vast stretches of the Pacific with grace and endurance.
Today, we celebrate the magic of albatrosses and the dedicated organizations working to protect them from threats including bycatch, plastic pollution, entanglement, and changing ocean conditions.
Coral’s story continues to inspire us and will be part of a future Wildlife Jewels arts collection honoring the beauty, resilience, and wonder of albatrosses. ✨
Every bird counts. Every observation matters.
