Western Gull Rescue | Point La Jolla

Every precious life deserves a chance. 💙

On October 26, Wildlife Jewels Rescue Crew received a community report of a Western Gull in distress at Point La Jolla.

Our Rescue Crew immediately responded and found this precious gull in severely weakened condition and in urgent need of help. 💔

We successfully rescued the gull and transported her to San Diego Humane Society's Project Wildlife for veterinary evaluation and care.

💔Sadly, this is the third Western Gull we've encountered in similarly critical condition in this area over the past month.

Through our EYES wildlife monitoring and Rescue Crew programs, we continuously monitor our coastlines, document wildlife injuries, illness, and mortality, and track emerging patterns of distress to better understand the challenges facing our precious coastal wildlife.

Every report matters. Every rescue matters. And every observation helps us identify wildlife in need and respond before it's too late.
