Happy World Migratory Bird Day 🕊️💙

This year’s theme, “Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter,” reminds us that community observations can play a powerful role in protecting migratory birds.

Along our Southern California coast, Wildlife Jewels volunteers monitor birds through our EYES™ Coastal Wildlife Field Observations Program and Wildlife Jewels Rescue Crew.

From murres, grebes, and pelicans to gulls, terns, and yellow-crowned night herons, every observation helps us better understand what birds are facing — and can help connect distressed birds to rescue support when needed.

On this World Migratory Bird Day, we invite you to join Wildlife Jewels in helping protect birds through observation, documentation, reporting, and rescue support.

Every bird counts. Every observation matters.
