Meet Wildlife Jewels’ “Emerald the Persian Leopard”
“Emerald the Persian Leopard” is our new Wildlife Jewels® painting and limited-edition collection inspired by Batifa—a rare, endangered Persian leopard whose rescue and resilience moved us deeply.
Batifa was found caught in a trap and later lost one of his hind legs, yet his courage, recovery, and radiant presence continue to inspire hope. In emerald, gold, and midnight hues, he stands above the hand-painted Wildlife Jewels® gemstone—symbolizing our belief that wildlife lives are more precious than any gem.
Through this collection of art-to-wear, décor, and educational pieces, we celebrate Batifa’s strength while shining a light on the urgent need to protect Persian leopards and other threatened big cats. Wear, display, and share his story to help keep his species in the world—not just in our imagination.
About Batifa the Persian Leopard
About Batifa: This precious, endangered Persian Leopard was rescued after being caught in a trap. Though one hind leg was later amputated, his courage and recovery continue to inspire. Batifa’s Collection brings together elegant designs with vibrant, complementary colors and striking prints, featuring our exclusive “Emerald Batifa the Leopard” painting. Inspired by Batifa’s rescue and resilience, each piece in this collection celebrates healing, strength, and hope for his species.

Hope for Batifa—and for Persian Leopards
Batifa’s story comes from a conflict zone where Persian leopards face escalating human threats: habitat loss and fragmented corridors, snares and leg-hold traps, retaliatory poisonings and shootings after livestock losses, depleted wild prey, and deadly road collisions on expanding highways. After days in a trap, Batifa was rescued; a damaged hind leg was amputated, making a return to the wild impossible. His resilience is the heart of this collection.
“I sketched, painted, and designed these pieces to carry Batifa’s story into daily life—so awareness becomes action: safer wildlife corridors and roads, coexistence with herders, and an end to trapping and poisoning.”

Tech Inspired by the Leopard
Camouflage & Design – Leopard rosettes inspire advanced camouflage patterns that help soldiers, explorers, and designers “disappear” in dappled light and complex landscapes.
Robotics & Movement – Engineers study big cats to build agile four-legged robots and lifelike animatronics that move with leopard-like balance, stealth, and power.
AI & Smart Algorithms – “Leopard-inspired” optimization and AI algorithms mimic big-cat hunting and territory behavior to solve complex problems in engineering, medicine, and more.
Stay tuned for our Learn from Leopards – Science, Art & Innovation workshops!
Persian Leopards are Superheroes!
Largest leopard of all – Persian leopards are the biggest leopard subspecies, powerful mountain cats built for cliffs and ravines.
Masters of camouflage – Their rosette patterns act like natural high-tech camouflage, inspiring how humans design disruptive patterns to break up outlines and stay unseen.
Acrobats of the mountains – With powerful hind legs and long balancing tails, they move silently along sheer rock faces where few animals (or humans) can go.
Endangered and irreplaceable – Fewer than 1,000 remain in fragmented habitats, making every individual—and every safe corridor—critical for the future of the species.
Living blueprint for innovation – Engineers and scientists study big cats like Persian leopards to design agile four-legged robots, smarter camouflage, and “leopard-inspired” AI algorithms that solve complex problems.
Protected by modern tech – GPS collars, camera traps, and AI image recognition now help conservationists track and protect Persian leopards across vast, rugged landscapes.
Threats to Persian Leopards
Habitat loss & fragmentation – Expanding farms, roads, and development carve up leopard territory into tiny, isolated patches.
Conflict with people – When leopards hunt livestock, they’re often trapped, shot, or poisoned in retaliation.
Poaching & illegal hunting – Leopards and their prey are killed for skins, trophies, and meat, leaving less food and fewer cats.
Declining prey – Overhunting of wild goats, deer, and other prey forces leopards closer to villages in search of food.
Roads, war & instability – Roads, vehicles, and conflict zones add deadly risks and make conservation much harder.
