We are deeply honored to feature Thandi, an extraordinary rhino and poaching survivor, along with her precious baby boy calf, in our Wildlife Jewels® Collection! This collection aims to capture Thandi and Zolani’s enchanting beauty while sharing their story, shedding light on the devastating impact of poaching.

We are delighted to share behind-the-scenes glimpse as we apply the first layer of paint on Thandi. Stay tuned as we will be sharing more details and sneak-peeks from our painting and design process!

Fine Art:

Painting in progress… Original 38” x 48” mixed media on canvas painting featuring Thandi and Zolani painted by our ED, Azi Sharif. The painting beautifully showcases Thandi (her name means love) and Zolani (his name means freedom loving and free-spirited) using luminous colors with detailed brush-strokes full of life and movement.

Education: This painting will be showcased at art galleries and event exhibitions for educational initiatives, dedicated to supporting Thandi and her family!

Conservation: The pieces from the collection will be featured at exhibitions for educational and fundraising initiatives. Select items will be available for purchase, contributing to Rhino Conservation and anti-poaching programs, all dedicated to supporting Thandi, her family and Rhinos!

About Thandi:

Thandi is a beautiful Rhino who is a survivor of a brutal poaching attack which took place on 2nd of March 2012 . Sadly, this attack also claimed the lives of two male rhinos. Amazingly, Thandi has since had five calves, Thembi, Colin, Mthetho, Siya, and Zolani. On 1 April 2023, Thandi gave birth to her fifth calf, Zolani. Thandi along with her five calves and two adorable grand-calves reside at Kariega Game Reserve in South Africa.
