Celebrate fall migration with Wildlife Jewels at Upper Newport Bay! We’ll spot birds at dusk and share amazing facts and easy ways to protect them, then practice a simple field protocol to spot, document, and report distressed birds.
Guided by this year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme—Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities & Communities—you’ll leave with practical, bird-friendly actions for home, school, and around town.

What: Sunset bird walk + mini EYES monitoring
Where: Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve, 700 San Joaquin Hills Rd, Newport Beach, CA 92660
When: Sunday, October 12, 2025 • 5:00–6:30 PM PT
You’ll learn: Quick bird ID & behavior tips, bird-friendly actions (windows, lights-out, native plants), and how to safely report injured birds
Bring: Binoculars, walking shoes, and reusable water bottle.
