Wildlife Jewels Learn from Birds Discovery Walk — La Jolla Cove
Presented by Wildlife Jewels’ Learn from Birds™, a Learn from Wildlife® program.
You’re invited to join Wildlife Jewels® for our Learn from Birds Discovery Walk—where the coastline becomes a living storybook and our field notes come to life.
Meet some of the coastal “bird jewels” featured in Jewels of La Jolla—inspired by real sightings we’ve been honored to witness: pelicans gliding low over the surf, cormorants flashing turquoise gem-like eyes as they spread their wings to dry, gulls scanning the shoreline, sparrows tucked into the coastal brush, and the blink-and-you-miss-it shimmer of an Anna’s Hummingbird—pure coastal magic in motion.
Inspired by our EYES™ field observations.
🌙 Plus: a special sneak peek + mini launch preview of Learn from Birds—part of Learn From Wildlife®—a new way to learn from our wild neighbors through wonder, science, and storytelling. 💙🌊
📅 Jan 5 | 12:00-1:15 PM📍 La Jolla Cove

Shedding light on the magical jewels of Newport Bay — a vibrant coastal treasure home to endangered Ridgway’s Rails, elegant egrets, graceful pelicans, and over 200 bird species. Its thriving wetlands and nursery waters teem with fish, invertebrates, and dazzling shorebirds — whose beauty, stories, and survival inspire our art and conservation work.
