Celebrate World Wildlife Day by Supporting Hummingbirds & Butterflies in Newport Beach!
Join Wildlife Jewels to Celebrate Hummingbirds & Butterflies by planting native plants that attract and support them! This exciting event aims to bring together nature enthusiasts from our community to plant flowers that benefit local hummingbird and butterfly species. It will also raise awareness about these unique species, enhance the beauty of our city with vibrant flowers, and promote wildlife conservation.
This community planting is part of our World Wildlife Day celebration! Come early to explore the art exhibits and join the wildlife talks, then head outside for hands-on planting!
What you’ll do
Plant native, pollinator-friendly flowers alongside our team and community volunteers
Learn about precious local hummingbirds and butterflies—and why habitat matters
Discover simple ways to create hummingbird and butterfly habitat at home
Help beautify Civic Center Park while supporting local wildlife
FREE. All ages are welcome. Families, students, educators, artists, and nature lovers are encouraged to join!

Get Involved: Paint for Wildlife!
Participate in the Wildlife Jewels Paint for Wildlife Collective Art Piece Workshops and contribute to large paintings showcasing nearly-threatened, endangered and vulnerable species like the Monarch Butterfly, keystone species such as the Antarctic Krill, and our local coastal wildlife like Brown Pelians and Whales.
Engage in a hands-on artistic experience while learning about each species' importance in our ecosystems and the urgent conservation efforts needed to protect them!
