What to Bring

This volunteer event will take place outdoors in Newport Beach. Please be aware that we will be planting flowers outside, so volunteers should be prepared to stand and be exposed to the sun for the duration of the event. We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes, and bringing gardening gloves, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat.

This is a family-friendly event! Children under 18 may participate with a supervising adult.

Wildlife Jewels® Participation Agreement and Consent As a condition of being allowed to participate in activities organized by Wildlife Jewels® — including but not limited to planting events, field trips, beach cleanups, wildlife watch, and monitoring — I, the Participant, agree to the following: THE PARTICIPANT: I am volunteering my services for Wildlife Jewels®. I will perform assigned tasks within my physical capability and will not undertake tasks beyond my ability. I will perform only those tasks assigned, observe all safety rules, and use care in the performance of my assignments. ASSUMPTION OF RISKS: Wildlife Jewels® activities may bring me into contact with wildlife and potentially hazardous environments. I acknowledge that participation in planting events, beach or inland water cleanups, hiking, wildlife rescue, and monitoring carries inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, infection, or physical harm from hazardous materials, wildlife encounters, poisonous plants, and environmental conditions such as flooding, rockslides, sun exposure, or rugged terrain. I hereby voluntarily assume all risks and responsibility for injury, death, or property damage foreseeably arising from Program activities, even if not expressly stated above. MINORS UNDER 18: Participants under 18 years of age may only participate if accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout the event. PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEOS, AND AUDIO RECORDINGS CONSENT RELEASE: I consent that photographs, videos, and/or audio recordings of me may be taken while engaged in Wildlife Jewels® activities and used in promotional materials and websites. WAIVER, INDEMNITY, AND RELEASE: I waive, release, discharge, and hold harmless Wildlife Jewels® from all claims, damages, losses, or injury arising from my participation, including those arising during and after the event. I accept sole responsibility for my own actions. PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I have received this RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK CONSENT in advance, have read and understood its contents, and agree that it is binding on me, my heirs, and representatives. I understand I cannot withdraw my consent after signing.
