Wildlife Jewels Arts: Painting & Planting for Pollinators with Pacific Ridge School

Wildlife Jewels PETAL Conservation w/ Pacific Ridge School: February 5th Monarch Butterfly Day, planting activity at Carlsbad Poinsettia Park. The students planted native plants that will help support and attract local pollinators. On February 13th, we held a painting activity where students painted beautiful hummingbirds, butterflies, and native plants, highlighting the importance of protecting pollinators. We recently had the joy of hosting a series of art and conservation workshops for the dedicated 7th-grade Service Learning students from Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad!

As part of our Pollinator Arts Program, students learned about San Diego’s beautiful hummingbirds and butterflies, then got creative—painting clay pots inspired by their favorite pollinators, decorating them with flair, and planting native plants to help feed and protect these vital species.

A perfect blend of art + action for pollinator conservation! Their passion, creativity, and care for wildlife truly inspired us.
