Paint the Jewels of La Jolla World Wildlife Day Celebration
A Wildlife Jewels® Community Art + Conservation Event
Celebrate the United Nations World Wildlife Day with Wildlife Jewels, by discovering the magical “jewels” of La Jolla’s coastline—featuring Wildlife Jewels’ coastal wildlife art, a special artist-led painting experience, local wildlife stories, and a short guided beach walk.
You’re invited to join Wildlife Jewels for our Paint the Jewels of La Jolla, a free, family-friendly community celebration in honor of World Wildlife Day. Explore art inspired by La Jolla’s majestic coastal wildlife—featuring wildlife we’ve documented through our field observations and, in some cases, wildlife we’ve helped report or support through rescue efforts. Then join us for a fun, short guided walk along the beach as we learn about the “Jewels” of La Jolla—harbor seals, sea lions, coastal birds, and tidepool life.
Artist-led Community Painting (optional): Guided by Wildlife Jewels’ renowned wildlife artist, this relaxed, all-ages painting experience features hand-drawn line art of La Jolla wildlife—ready for you to paint or color in. You’ll pick up a few simple painting techniques along the way, hear real stories from the field, and help bring a collaborative artwork to life. This experience connects creativity, conservation, and community, celebrating La Jolla’s coastal wildlife and the stories that make each “Jewel” unique.
Come paint, explore the exhibits, join the walk, or simply enjoy the beauty of La Jolla. No art experience needed. All ages welcome.
