Wildlife Jewels Presents
Wildlife Rescue by the Sea: Protecting Solana Beach Wildlife
An Evening of Wildlife Rescue, Rehabilitation & Art for Wildlife
What happens when wildlife needs help—and what happens after an animal is rescued?
Join Wildlife Jewels for a special community evening at The Naked Cafe, just steps from Fletcher Cove beach, exploring our local wildlife through rescue stories, rehabilitation, art, and conversation.
Dr. Azi Sharif, Founder & Executive Director of Wildlife Jewels, will share stories and discoveries from Wildlife Jewels’ coastal monitoring and bird rescue work—including the seabird starvation and mortality event witnessed along our coast this spring. Learn what Wildlife Jewels is watching for now, how to recognize signs of wildlife distress, and what you can do when an animal may need help.
Special guest Dr. Erica Ellis, Medical Director of Shalom Wildlife Hospital, will take us behind the scenes of wildlife rehabilitation, sharing stories of wildlife patients in care and what it takes to give injured and orphaned wildlife a second chance in the wild.
Enjoy wildlife art and photography from the Wildlife Jewels Collections and more, special cocktails from The Naked Cafe, and an opportunity to connect with others in our community who care about wildlife.
Come discover the remarkable wildlife living all around us—and how each of us can help protect them.
