Host: Wildlife Jewels® EYES™ La Jolla

You’re invited! 🌊🦭 Join Wildlife Jewels for an inspiring coastal stroll during King Tides Week! Explore the La Jolla coastline as we spot coastal wildlife and share real stories of unique local residents from our EYES™ field monitoring & rescues. Discover how these extreme tides reshape the shore, why they matter for the future, and how your sightings + quick reporting can help protect our precious coastal & marine wildlife neighbors.

What we’ll do

  • Walk & wonder: Stroll the coastline during King Tides Week—the most extreme tides of the year—and see how the shore transforms.

  • Meet our coastal & marine wildlife neighbors: Spot sea lions, seabirds, and tidepool life while practicing respectful, no-disturbance viewing (observe with space & zoom).

  • Field stories that inspire: Hear real EYES™ moments from observations, monitoring, and rescues—and how quick reporting saves lives.

  • King tides 101: Why highs get higher and lows get lower—and what these extremes can tell us about future everyday tides.

  • Get involved: Learn simple ways to join EYES™ La Jolla as a Community Reporter or Volunteer Monitor so your regular beach walks help protect wildlife.

  • Report like a pro: Quick guides, safety tips, and contacts for reporting distressed wildlife (plus a peek at our Rescue Crew program).

What to bring

Comfortable closed-toe shoes, layers, a reusable water bottle, binoculars (if you have them), and a phone/camera with zoom—and lots of curiosity!

Space is limited — registration required. Reserve your spot below.
