Wildlife Jewels La Jolla Wildlife Walk

A special walk celebrating the majestic wildlife inhabitants of La Jolla

Discover the precious Wildlife of La Jolla’s Coast

Join Wildlife Jewels® for a special golden-hour wildlife walk along La Jolla’s extraordinary coastline and discover the remarkable wildlife whose lives depend on the health and protection of this magical coastal habitat.

Step beyond the shoreline and into the lives of La Jolla’s wildlife.

Through Wildlife Jewels’ EYES® wildlife monitoring and Rescue Crew programs, our team has spent countless hours in the field observing, documenting, and protecting La Jolla’s wildlife. We’ve watched chicks grow from eggs, followed pups as they’ve grown along the coast, documented nesting and family behaviors, and helped wildlife in need.

During the walk, we’ll share the stories of some of the individual animals we’ve come to know—from seabirds and their young to seals, sea lions, and other coastal wildlife—as well as some of the birds our team has helped rescue over the last few months.

You’ll also discover the increasing challenges these animals face, including fishing-gear entanglement, marine debris, and human disturbance, and learn how we can all help protect them.

Come walk with us as the evening light falls over the Pacific and experience the extraordinary wild lives unfolding along this beautiful coastline.
